General
The drop-down list next to CommPort now only displays the COM ports that are actually available when DinamoConfig starts. “Available” means: present, operational, and not in use by another program. If a COM port is added or removed while DinamoConfig is active—for example, by inserting or removing a USB interface with COM port emulation, or if an extra COM port becomes available because you close another program that was occupying it—the list can be updated using the “Refresh” button.
RM-U/UCCI Tab
- In RM-U Options, the ability to enable Transparent Mode and Bootloader Transparent Mode has been added. You can use this function with both an RM-U and a UCCI. In the latter case, the UCCI must be connected directly to the PC (thus functioning as an “autonomous system”).
- Transparent Mode is (primarily) intended for configuring and testing OC32 modules connected to the RM-U or UCCI. This works best if the OC32s are connected via RS485, as communication then works in both directions. To enable Transparent Mode, select the “Transp.M” option and then click the “RM-U Options” button. A prerequisite for using Transparent Mode is that your RM-U or UCCI must be equipped with the correct firmware.
- Bootloader Transparent Mode is intended for updating modules connected to the RM-U or UCCI with new firmware using the Bootloader. This only works if the modules in question are connected to the RM-U or UCCI via RS485. To enable Bootloader Transparent Mode, select (both) the “Transp.M” and “Boot.TM” options and then click the “RM-U Options” button. A prerequisite for using Transparent Mode is that your RM-U or UCCI must be equipped with the correct firmware. To update the modules with the Bootloader, they must be equipped with a CPU that supports the Bootloader.
- After activating Transparent Mode or Bootloader Transparent Mode, DinamoConfig displays an error message stating that there is no response from Dinamo. This is because DinamoConfig expects an additional message from Dinamo, but the RM-U is (temporarily) no longer acting as an RM-U.
- Please note: After activating (Bootloader) Transparent Mode, close DinamoConfig or close the COM port by clicking the “Refresh” button to ensure the COM port is available for OC32Config or Bootloader software (which was the whole point).
Have fun!
