Koploper is the best-known software program and was perhaps the first serious software on the market. For Linux and macOS, the software can be run via a virtual machine.

RocRail
RocRail has traditionally been an open-source software package, allowing users to handle much of the development themselves. The RocRail user group has expanded significantly, and it is now seen as a lightweight alternative to iTrain. This software is also multi-platform, making it suitable for Windows, Linux, macOS, and ARM. However, it lacks many of the functionalities offered by programs like iTrain and Koploper.
