The DTS, the 48-position sensor for the DTC controller, is being replaced by the DTSv2.
Changes in the DTSv2 compared to the DTS
- The DTSv2 is supplied as standard with “HS” sensors and a matching magnet. These “HS” sensors were already being supplied with the latest versions of the DTS: the DTS/HS.
- The DTSv2 is fully SMD-based, with the exception of the connectors. As a result, the module is significantly thinner and takes up less height under the turntable.
- All redundant, unused component positions have been removed. This gives the PCB a “cleaner” look and significantly better EMC properties.
- The connection points (data and power) are now logically placed next to each other. The power connection is horizontal by default (a vertical version can still be mounted as an option). This means there is less trouble with cables under the turntable that could get in the way of underlying tracks.
- The DTSv2 is equipped with an additional 14-pin ribbon cable connection. This allows the module to be connected in the future using a single ribbon cable for both power and data. This is possible because the HS sensors on the DTCv2 require significantly less power than those on the old DTS. This connection option is not yet actively offered, as the current DTC v3.0 and v3.1 do not yet feature this connection.
- Like the DTS, the DTSv2 is available in 75 mm and 100 mm versions.
- Starting with the DTSv2, we will no longer include 2.4×16 mm screws in the mounting set. These often go through the top plate; the 2.4×12 mm screws are strong enough in practice, and the DTSv2 is even lighter than the old DTS.
- The DTSv2-75 will be available starting from week 2025-51.
- The DTSv2-100 is expected to be available from early 2026, as soon as the current stock of the DTS-100 is exhausted.
