Goedendag.

Could i have this comment in English please, i am having lots of trouble with my DTC set up
The whole thread is just about that version 6.2.4. is the latest working version.
If you encounter problems, just open a new thread and describe your setup, the problems you experience and what you have done so fa.
Best regards, Leon
Every time i select User Forum it is in Dutch so i do not know where to start a thread.
I have a Fleishmann Turntable with VLEB DTC and DTS control equipment.
Purchased 3 years ago but i am just setting it up now . My intention is to use it eventually controlled by iTrain.
I downloaded the latest firmware and managed to Calibrate part 1 of the bridge, and all Sensors show Green
However i cannot get the turntable to operate correctly.
When i start a 180 degree turn the bridge moves about 6 places then abruptly stops with a STOP sign or turn arrows still in motion. This happens in both directions.
If i start just 1 position it moves 2 or 3 places.
I have adjusted the DTS in every minute position with no difference.

Geoff

Hello,
Translation services are quite expensive these days. Within our reasonably responsible budget, we have chosen to offer only the static pages in multiple languages.
A forum like this one will quickly rack up a lot of translated words, and those costs are really high. You can expect to pay around £700 per month just for the translations. In addition, the services are not always reliable, which means manual checking is important.
For the forum, and indeed for other sites, a translation extension is often used. Services such as Google Translate and DeepL all have extensions for Chrome, Safari, Firefox, etc. that automatically translate a website for you. These are free and work really well!

Thank you for the reply, i use Firefox but it will only translate my account page, the Forum page is always in Dutch so i am unable to solve my problem with my DTC set up.
I can see a translation , but the page will not allow me to start a Topic.
Is there another way of contacting someone who can solve my problem please ?

Hi Geoff,
If your turntable itself is ok, you install the DTCv3 exactly as written in the manual (available in English), it should work.
Yes, it is possible that teh DTC is defective, but in practice 99% of the problems find their origin elsewhere.
1) Does you turntable operate fault free when you control it with the original "controller"? If the basic hardware is nog OK, the DTC won't repair it.
2) Have you taken all the steps as written in the manual, especially, have you paid attention to possible hardware adaptations to be done to the bridge? Did you encounter anything you skipped beause you did not understand it?
3) You write you managed to "calibrate part 1 of the bridge". What is "Part 1"? The is only one calibrate function that should finish automatically. What are the calibration values you see when the calibration is finished (if it does). Does the bridge turn smoothly anyway? Can you control the speed down to e.g. 20% as maximum (disable sensor timeout temporarily if you want to test that).
4) I guess you bought the DTC/DTS set from James? If so, in principle he then is you first line of support. We can try to help remotely, but local support or support on location is more difficult from here.
Best regards, Leon
I mean't Part 1 because it was just the bridge movement and not the DTS calibration.
The bridge is modified correctly and set up as the instructions.
The Turntable operates with the DTC controller but sometimes it stops abruptly before reaching its destination.
If i set it to 180 degree turn it moves about 5 places then stops.
If i set it to move 3 places it works occasionally.
Yes i have been in contact with James and he is trying to help.
I know the bridge motor is ok because the bridge rotates when i couple up the Fleishmann Circular Controller
Incidentally when i try using iTrain to control it a message states 'Emergency Stop' appears when it stops

Hi Geoff,
At thirst, the Fleischmann quality of the last years is a b*t*h. I do not know if you are refurring to the 9152 of the 6192?
In case of the 9152:
I have an simular issue at this moment. A new N-scale bridge is behaving the exact same way. I was trying everything and after a while i found out that the wire between the coil and the sleper contacts (little lead wire) was not soldered correctly. When checking the wires for bad soldering, and fixing te issue, the problem was gone.
I have had this one time before, and in that case The problem lies in the contact which makes the motor turn on when the coil is contracted. This is so precise that when the coil is released the engine stops getting power.
Also here, it workes on the manual controll, but when turned on the DTCv3 is stopped after a few weeks of running great. I think a change in the room temperature, got the metal off the setpoint (wild quess)After fixing the point of this bimetal contact, by trail and error i managed to get the contact precise zo that the release only disconect when the pin falls in the slot.
So, i now that the DTCv3 is not the problem, its the internal contact of the bridge. I was testing if i could overrule this with the PID measurement of the DTC. But a few weeks ago i had to stop testing because of the high workload. What i treid didn't gave any effect.

Hi Geoff,
Minimum speed 50% is extremely high. It should run well at 10% or below. My testunit works OK down to 2% minimum speed, and it's an old, worn turntable with original motor.
If you need to set this over 10% to get it working, something is seriously wrong.
I doubt it is the problem, but to be sure, you can (temporarily) set the E-stop sensor delay to 0.0. This disables this function.
Leon
Thank you,
I set the Minimum speed to 8%
Disabled the E -Stop
The Bridge revolves ok clockwise in 180 degree mode, but in anticlockwise mode the Bridge stops after 4 positions in 180 degree mode.
So even with the E -Stop disabled it still stops before it reaches its destination.
I have adjusted the DTS to try and resolve this but with no effect.

Geoff
